Education is the number one priority of the Combat Air Museum. Through our guided tours, bi-monthly luncheon/lecture series, social events and museum classes, visitors of all ages can be inspired and educated in aviation history, technology, art and the cost of freedom. Come and join the fun at the Combat Air Museum. We will be hosting Aviation Classes for youth, ages seven through fourteen on the dates as shown below. Classes are held in the mornings from 9:00 am until 12 noon. The class fee is $40.00 per student. For an additional $40.00 students will be able to contact an organization that can provide a 30-minute familiarization flight in a light aircraft. The four-day sessions will cover aviation history, flight theory, aviation weather, aircraft engines/structures & control systems and allow for time in a 1960's vintage instrument trainer. Tours of other aviation tenants at Forbes Field are planned as their respective schedules allow. Enrollment is limited and the Museum will accept children on a first-come-first served basis. For details call Lois at Topeka 862-3303 between 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday |
